Dear CEO Staff,
After careful consideration, and in compliance with President Biden’s vaccine mandate and the OSHA emergency technical standard released on November 4th, CEO will now require all staff be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To ensure compliance with this mandate, we have outlined the following schedule for all staff that are currently unvaccinated:
- Provide proof of first vaccination dose by Monday, November 15th
- Provide proof of second vaccination dose (if required) by Tuesday, December 7th
CEO will provide up to 4 hours of paid leave per vaccination dose for employees to receive the vaccine. This leave time will be paid at employee’s regular rate of pay when the vaccination injection occurs during an employee’s normal work hours. To ensure appropriate staffing is maintained, employees must provide their manager with at least one business day advance notice of the need for such leave. Recovery paid time is available, if needed, when experiencing side effects from the vaccination injection. Employees must also submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (including the date and time of such) to Human Resources. Please visit https://www.vaccines.gov/ to learn more about where and when vaccines are available.
Anyone who would like to request an accommodation for religious or medical reasons may contact Human Resources by emailing covid@ceoempowers.org to obtain a request form. These forms must be completed and returned for review no later than Friday, November 12, 2021. Submitting the accommodation form does not guarantee approval. Requests for accommodation will be considered on a case-by-case basis, considering medical and scientific evidence and applicable law.
It is important to note that any employee who does not provide proof of vaccination in accordance with the schedule outlined above will not be eligible for continued employment.
While we understand that is a very personal and possibly difficult decision for some staff members, this step is essential as we work together to build back out of this pandemic and ensure that our staff, children and families remain safe.
Your ongoing commitment to serve the vulnerable residents within our communities has been, and continues to be, invaluable.
Please address all questions and requests to our Human Resources Department at the email provided above.
I wish you all a safe and healthy upcoming holiday season.
Katherine
