We wanted to send out CEO’s 2025-2026 Special Days of the Year calendar. This calendar represents holidays and special days/months that CEO will be acknowledging on an agency and/or program level. Please see the below.

2025 Special Days Calendar

One of the up-and-coming events is Black History Month (February 1^st-March 1^st). Every February, people in the United States celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans as part of Black History Month. It was created to focus attention on the contributions of African Americans in the United States. It honors all Black people from all periods of U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today.

As part of CEO’s Black History programming our goal is for every site and program to be involved in an activity or event that supports Black History. We are asking every site and program to identify and implement an activity that supports the recognition of Black History month during the month of February. Please see below for some potential ideas and please feel free to think outside the box:

• Highlight a Black History author and their literature
• Conduct an activity in the classroom or informational session with families
• Dedicate a bulletin board in your workspace to Black History information

CEO is excited to announce that we will be collaborating with the Underground Railroad Education center to offer a presentation on Black History programming to our staff and community on February 25^th from 2:00pm-3:00pm. This will be in person at the CRC Bridge for all those are interested in attending. Please mark your calendars and we hope to see you there.
