COVID Protocol Update

As you may be aware the CDC recently released updated guidance regarding quarantine expectations for positive COVID-19 cases. Effective Monday March 18, 2024, CEO will be following the updated CDC guidance for staff that test positive. In compliance with the updated procedures, all staff will continue to be required to contact Tia Nunziato (tnunziato@ceoempowers.org or 518-272-6012 ext. 283) or Alyssa Garner (agarner@ceoempowers.org or 518-272-6012 ext. 422) if they test positive for COVID and also immediately notify their supervisor.

Once HR is notified of a positive COVID case we follow up with the staff member via a phone call to provide guidance on returning to work in accordance with the updated CDC guidance.

The following protocols will be followed for staff testing positive for Covid-19:  

Positive COVID Test Protocols for Asymptomatic (no symptoms) Individuals:

  • Employees will not need to observe a quarantine period but will be required to wear a mask for 5 days after positive test results are received.  Interactions with others must be limited to the best of your ability.  

Positive COVID Test Protocols for Symptomatic Individuals:

  • Staff will be required to stay home until at least 24 hours have passed where both their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever without the use of fever-reducing medication. Once this period passes, the individual can return to work and will be required to wear a mask for 5 days from the day symptoms began.
