Email Record Retention

In our continued efforts to improve our IT practices, policies, and cyber security as an entire agency, we will be changing our email record retention policy by the end of October. With this change, all emails will only be available for a rolling 12-month period. We are asking staff to help prepare for this change by going through their email to find and save important documentation outside of Outlook. Managers will be speaking with (or will have already spoken with) staff to address where and how to best save correspondence on the G: Drive.  Below is a tip sheet for how to go about reviewing your inbox and other mail folders, and save important information.

We will be sending another email as the retention change gets closer to remind staff. We are hopeful that having this month to prepare will help with what we know may be a big change for everyone. Don’t hesitate to reach out to IT if you have any questions.
