Making a Difference

Apr 24, 2023 | General

Hello CEO Staff,

I can hardly believe that it’s the beginning of the fourth week in my new role as CEO of CEO, but time flies when you are doing something that you truly enjoy. As many of you know, I began my career at CEO over 30 (short) years ago as a young college graduate excited about a field-based job within her community. That first role was instrumental in a career long journey because I was making a difference. That has always been my personal motto, “make a difference every day!”

Working at CEO, you are making a difference, in a small or BIG way. The work we do matters in the lives of so many.  I do understand that our jobs are not always easy. Some days may be seemingly thankless, but for one child, individual, or family at a time, we are ALL providing services or performing work that makes a difference.

In my previous role as Vice President/CAO, working with the Senior Admin Team, it was always our goal to make CEO be the best employer and service provider possible. Today, we are laser-focused on refining the positive efforts and initiatives that will continue to keep us as a competitive employer (Yes, Fri-Yays will be back by popular demand starting on May 26th through September 8th),  as well as making sure that all agency resources are being used to prioritize key areas. The reality of the new CRC Bridge building is getting closer each day (not to mention noisy and chaotic), but this enhancement to our service model will create programming and service opportunities for those community members most impacted by the pandemic, making the construction inconvenience worth the efforts.

With my new role and its responsibilities, I’m happy to share that Erin Hernandez will be leading the efforts of Community Service programming at the CRC building, and compliance in her expanded role as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Tia Nunziato will be leading the efforts of People operations in her (not so new) role as Director of Early Childhood Services and Chief Human Resources Officer (ECS/CHRO).  Mary O’Grady, Pearl Higgins, and Nancy Uber will all continue to oversee their respective specialized areas of Finance, Communications & Technology, and Quality Assurance.

I am truly proud to be leading this great agency and I thank you all for the work you do each and every day.   I look forward to continuing our mission together!

Sincerely,

Sue
